torn calf mussel

WOW ...That's all I can say. A couple of days ago I tore my calf mussel.
I had major spinal surgery at the start of the year (fusion of l5 to s1 ) That was not alot of fun but all in all the recovery was going well until a month ago when it was discovered that I now had a bulging disk at l3and 4. Any way at the age of 42 I thought that ok it's all going to be good now because I set my mind to well being..
Two day's ago I went outside to put my pool cover on as it is winter in Australia. After I had finished I stood on a wall about 1 foot high to make sure that the cover was on correctly when I stepped off the wall or step really I had an intense pain in the back of my calf. The pain was so bad that it put me on the ground next to the pool.I have never been shot but that is sure what it felt like..
In fact my first thought was that that was a very quiet gun that had shot me..
I even expected to see my leg blown away an my blood all over the nice white prick paving.
Very glad that was not the case...still that did not stop the pain,as far as pain goes I have had my fair share this year,this pain was equal to the pain that I was in immediately after surgery but then I had a morphine pump. Anyway needless to say a torn calf mussel is not fun,so anyone who has done this I sympaphise...
